Moving to Vegas was one of the hardest and most rewarding times in my life and I'm glad I got to experience it. When I moved there I complained about almost everything. Did you know the sun shines ALL THE TIME?? Most people would think this is a blessing, but for a girl who loves the rain and snow, sunshine in December totally messed up my system.
Vegas has one color scheme - brown. Everywhere you look you see brown. Now I love brown as much as the next person, but when you see it day after day after day you start to wonder if you're going color blind.
After a while though I began to see the good things about Vegas. I never had to scrape snow and ice off my windows in the morning. I never had to wear a coat. The few times it did rain - it poured (and I loved every minute of it). Trees and grass do exist, you just have to look.
Last of all, there's the people. There have only been a few occasions when I have met people as kind and non-judgmental as the people I met in Nevada. They go out of their way to sit next to you, talk to you, and invite you to parties even though they barely know you. It was truly an amazing experience to meet the people of Las Vegas and become friends, even if it was for just a short time.
I'm so grateful I got to have the opportunity of learning to love a new place and new people!
xoxo,
Jessie
